Hi, I’m Stephanie. Some people call me Shlo.

I write and draw about motherhood, artmaking, identity, and pleasure.

I have an MFA from the Jackson Center for Creative Writing at Hollins University. My professional background is in arts education, with a focus on public interpretation of visual culture, museum studies, and studio art. I currently run my own business as a writer and editor.

My poetry has appeared in Best New Poets, Third Coast, Rattle, and elsewhere under the name S.H. Lohmann. You can find select editorial and literary publications here.

I am revising my first novel after completing the Year Long Novel Generation Workshop with Lynn Steger Strong.
